What can I tell you, I bloody love a good scary movie. For me it all started back in 1999 when at a friends house we stayed up late and watched Scream 2. Yes, Scream 2. I was a little too young when 1996’s Scream came out, but it certainly did not take me long to catch up.

I was possibly the only 10 year old begging his mum to buy him Scream on VHS. I remember looking everywhere for it, and the day I found it I still remember the feeling of watching it for the very first time. Poor Drew Barrymore just didn’t stand a chance.

Only a year later Scream 3 came out, although I couldn’t see it at the movies as I was too young, I ran out and grabbed the very first copy of Scream 3 at the video shop the day that it came out.

For years I would just watch them over and over, but after a while, with all the shocking rip-offs I grew a little tired of the slasher genre. I did get to go back and fall in love with Halloween, with the help of its sequel Halloween H20, without realising why, these films just seemed to be connected, it is now obvious to me, at 21, why such comparisons have been drawn.

It had been well over 2 years since I’d watched any of the Scream Trilogy, and with the announcement of Scream 4 I decided to go out and purchase the trilogy on DVD and relive my childhood a little, and what did I find..?
